H₂ Power for Gruyère, Switzerland
Green Hydrogen for Industry
At Gruyère Hydrogen Power, renewable electricity becomes green hydrogen for real industrial use. In the canton of Fribourg, two Quest One ME450 PEM electrolyzers help produce up to 900 kg of green hydrogen per day – reliably, efficiently, and close to where it is needed.

How Gruyère Hydrogen Power Turned Renewable Power Into Industrial Hydrogen
Gruyère Hydrogen Power SA, part of Gruyère Energie SA, saw early that green hydrogen would play an important role in decarbonizing industry. Based in western Switzerland, the company committed itself to developing and marketing green hydrogen and looked for a technology partner that could meet high technical expectations.
After intensive research, Gruyère Hydrogen Power selected Quest One and installed two ME450 PEM electrolyzers. Each system has an electrical output of one megawatt and is powered predominantly by green electricity from photovoltaics. Together, the two units reach a system efficiency of 74 percent and can produce up to 900 kilograms of green hydrogen per day.
The project shows how renewable energy can be integrated into a practical hydrogen value chain, from electrolysis to storage and onward to industrial and mobility applications. For Gruyère Hydrogen Power, performance mattered. So did reliability. That is why the partnership was about more than technology alone. As Patrick Sudan, Director of Gruyère Hydrogen Power SA, put it: Quest One fully met their technical expectations and stood out as an experienced partner with strong technical advice and service.
"Gruyère Hydrogen Power has been dealing with hydrogen for industrial needs which requires a high level of reliability. We are pleased to have chosen Quest One, an experienced partner who fully met our technical expectations."
